H.P. SHASTRI CHARITABLE FOUNDATION RAISING FUNDS TO HELP FIGHT CORONAVIRUS- COVID 19 IN INDIA

We hope all of you are staying safe and healthy during this time. Please continue to follow guidance as provided by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization.

As you are already aware, COVID-19 is a worldwide pandemic and India is also in the middle of it, with a nationwide lockdown currently in effect in an attempt to "flatten the curve" and limit the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-COV2) which causes COVID-19 .

H. P. Shastri Charitable Foundation would like to do its part to help in this unprecedented situation. The foundation is currently raising funds as part of a special emergency project to help people in India affected by the current Coronavirus COVID- 19 pandemic , and also help in other ways.

The foundation executive team discussed numerous ideas on how to best help all those affected by this crisis. In India, as you may be aware, there are daily wage workers who were adversely impacted as a side effect when the lockdown went into effect, and currently many of them are in the process of going back to their hometowns and during this journey they are facing life & death situation across India secondary to lack of food. There are also numerous other challenges that India has related to this pandemic . After consultation with local officials in Ghaziabad on how best to help, and given the magnitude of this crisis, it was felt that monetary donations are the best way to support all those in need. If you donate to our H. P. Shastri Charitable Foundation for this special project, the funds that you donate to us will be matched by our foundation (up to a pre-decided maximum amount) and money that our foundation raises will tentatively be donated to the PM- CARES RELIEF FUND

Prime Minister Modi of India announced the Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM- CARES) fund to specifically address the COVID 19 pandemic in India and all related issues . The prime minister is the chairman of the trust and its members include the defence minister, the home minister and the finance minister. The goal of the PM-CARES fund is to help the people of India with food and basic supplies, housing and other unforeseen challenges. This fund is also accepting donations from overseas organizations. It was felt by the H.P. Shastri Charitable Foundation Executive team that donating to PM-CARES is the best way to maximize helping all those in need and minimize misuse of funds donated once the funds reach India. A donation to our foundation is tax deductible to you as we are a registered 501c3 public charity nonprofit organization . We will make an announcement at a later date as to how much total money was raised and how much was matched and the total amount donated to the PM- CARES Fund . The board may also decide to give some portion of funds to other worthy relief organizations to help fight COVID-19.

Thank you for your support and consideration and we hope you will contribute to our important initiative to do our part to help India during the COVID- 19 pandemic . You also can make a difference! Please specify in your donation that this is for the HPSCF COVID 19 Fundraising Project Emergency Relief Fund.
